WEST LIBERTY – The West Liberty-Salem Science Olympiad Middle School Team continues to have a great season. The team earned the third place trophy at the Piqua Regional competition, advancing to the state competition in April at The Ohio State University, Columbus campus.
The results were: Air Trajectory (4th Michael Farquharson, Paul Kauffman, 6th Devin Marchal, Matthew Roach), Anatomy/Physiology (6th Hailey Duncan, Lizzy Davis), Bio-Process Lab (6th Lizzy Davis, Kayla Hudson), Bottle Rockets (2nd Sam Benedict, Kayla Hudson and 5th Luke Hudson, Graham Higgins), Crave the Wave (5th Michael Farquharson, Paul Kauffman), Crime Busters (6th Tyler Motzko, Lee Ackley), Dynamic Planet (5th Tyler Motzko, Cade Clerico), Elastic Launched Gliders (Lauren Fowler, Tyler Motzko), Food Science (Hailey Duncan, Lauren Fowler), Fossils (Sam Benedict, Cade Clerico), Invasive Species (4th Lee Ackley, Tyler Motzko), Mission Possible (4th Zack Woolley, Lee Ackley, 6th Elliott Hager, Maria Henderson), Picture This (4th Lee Ackley, Lizzy Davis), Wind Power (4th Michael Farquharson, Logan Tompkins), Write It Do It (3rd Kayla Hudson, Lauren Fowler).
