ST. PARIS – Graham Local Schools’ new superintendent will make about $200 less annually than his predecessor.

Kirk Koennecke’s annual salary will be $115,000, according to Treasurer Judy Geers. The Graham school board approved Koennecke’s four-year contract at its March 7 meeting. He starts Aug. 1.

Graham’s previous superintendent, Norm Glismann, received $115,180 in his final year before resigning to become Tecumseh Local Schools’ superintendent.

The salary range for the position, as defined by the district’s superintendent profile, is $105,000 to $125,000.

Koennecke is currently high school principal at Marion Harding High School in Marion. He is a former principal of Springfield High School in Clark County, a former principal of Barberton High School, a former assistant principal at Bedford High School, and a former assistant principal/athletic director at Richmond Heights High School. He was a high school social studies teacher as well.

Koennecke received his Education Specialist Degree and Superintendent Licensure at Wright State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Ohio State University.

The school board approved a consultant contract for Koennecke at the March 7 meeting for not more than 15 days, effective March 7-July 31.
