Louise D. Walter, formerly of Urbana, and daughter of Daniel and Cheryl Walter, Urbana, announces her engagement to Eric Winnard of Baltimore, Maryland.

Walter is in her second year at Georgetown Law School, and Winnard works in real estate in Baltimore.

The couple met while studying at Duke University.

Walter is the daughter of Franciska Brand of Jacksonville, Florida.
