Mechanicsburg’s William Reiser won the individual title with a 74 and the Indians prevailed as a team at the Central District Division III boys golf sectional at Darby Creek on Tuesday.
The Indians had a team score of 316 and Fairfield Christian Academy was second with a 329.
For the Indians, Conner Eyink had a 76, Anderson Reiser an 81, Quinn Rockenbaugh an 85 and Ozzy Roach an 85.
“The boys struggled after coming in for 45 minutes due to lightning after 13 holes,” said MHS Coach Chad Owens. “Anderson was sick at the break and went 5 over on his last 3 holes and Ozzy had a triple bogey on his last hole.”
The Indians advance to play at the district tournament at Turnberry Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Mechanicsburg girls golf team finished 7th out of 13 squads at the Central District sectional on Monday.
For the Indians, Mylee DeLong had a 110.
The Graham girls golf team won the Division II sectional with a 399 on Wednesday.
The Falcons were led by Zoey Merritt, who shot a 79. Riley Donnelly had a 102, Kailey Dowty a 105, Bayla Moffitt a 112 and Grace Bowers a 128.
Also in Division II, the WL-S girls golf team placed third at the sectional with a 411 and qualified for the district tournament.
For the Tigers, Olivia Reichardt had a 95, Geneva Estep a 103, Kennedy Wallace a 103, Taylor Cook a 119 and Teagan Boyd a 110.
The Triad girls team placed 14th with a 538.
The Falcons and Tigers will play in the district tournament at Pipestone on Wednesday.
