Urbana defeats Triad in girls hoops

Alex Dixon had a game-high 29 points as Urbana beat visiting Triad, 57-26, in non-league girls basketball.

The Hillclimbers led, 33-18, at the half.

For UHS (16-6), Peyton Mounce had 15 points, 20 rebounds and 8 assists and Reagan Cotner added 6 points and 7 rebounds.

For Triad (3-19), Kaley Nott had 8 points and 5 rebounds, Mia LeMay had 5 points and 8 rebounds and Ashlyn McCoy added 9 rebounds.

On Saturday, Urbana will play Valley View at noon at Tecumseh in the Division II sectional and Triad will play Russia at 4 p.m. at Sidney in the Division IV sectional.

JH basketball

Urbana’s 8th grade boys beat Bellefontaine, 51-42. For UJHS, Grady Lantz had 25 points.

The Urbana 7th grade boys won, 52-23. For UJHS, Case Teepe had 12 points and Drew Dixon added 10.
