Indians, ’Climbers prevail in girls hoops

MILFORD CENTER – Addie DeLong scored a game-high 30 points as Mechanicsburg beat Fairbanks, 60-42, in OHC girls basketball Friday night.

The Indians led, 24-13, at the half.

For Mechanicsburg (15-3, 12-1), Olivia Skillings had 18 points.

Fairbanks is now 17-3, 12-2.

The Indians play at Northeastern on Wednesday.

UHS wins

Peyton Mounce recorded a triple double with 30 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists as Urbana routed visiting Belmont, 89-43, in non-league girls basketball on Saturday.

The Hillclimbers led, 59-27, at the half.

For UHS (14-5), Reagan Cotner had 23 points, Lyza Forson had 16 points and Alex Dixon added 8 points and 9 assists.

Urbana plays at Indian Lake on Wednesday.

Triad falls

MILFORD CENTER – Fairbanks beat Triad, 55-15, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

Fairbanks led, 20-10, at the half.

For Triad (3-16, 2-12), Madi Cox had 4 points, Abbey Overfield had 4 points and 2 steals and Ashlyn McCoy added 5 rebounds.

Fairbanks won the jayvee game, 48-4. For Triad, Hannah Russell had 3 points and Olivia Hall added 4 rebounds.

Triad will host West Jefferson on Wednesday for Senior Night.

Graham loses

ST. PARIS – London knocked off Graham, 42-30, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

London led, 17-14, at the half.

Graham (5-14) plays at Ben Logan on Wednesday.

JH basketball

The Urbana 7th grade girls lost to Tecumseh, 28-19, in the CBC tournament. For UJHS, Alayna Toney had 8 points.
