Kiser Lake State Park hosts Halloween Campout

ST. PARIS – Kiser Lake State Park is hosting a Halloween event Oct. 6-8. Come for a fun weekend. We will kick it off with a live bird of prey program given by Shawn Conner, visiting from Hueston Woods State Park. Come to the Kiser Lake Amphitheater at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Following the bird program you can join us in making an owl luminary.

Saturday morning at 9 a.m. come make a Halloween treat for the birds. Make a bird feeder. Next at 10 a.m. make a craft with the VIP’s. Then at 11 a.m. visit the Nature Center Cemetery and collect some body parts. At noon participate in a costume contest. From 1 to 2 p.m. trick or treat at the campsites. Next is a live spider program. Later in the afternoon are hayrides and games to play. Come to the beach at 6 p.m. and launch a potato into the lake. At the day’s close, 8 p.m., come to the middle playground for a guided tour on the mini haunted trail or listen to haunted stories.

On Sunday enjoy the morning at 10 a.m. with some nature art, followed by a beautiful fall tree walk. Kiser Lake also features ice fishing. Come at 1 p.m. to learn about it.

All activities take place in the campground area. Public parking can be found in the front of the campground located on Kiser Lake Road, east of the lake. All programs are free to the public. Extra program schedules can be found at the Nature Center. To stay overnight, register for a campsite at Ohiostateparks.org/KiserLake.
