Something for everyone at Farm Science Review

There is something for everyone in agriculture at this year’s Farm Science Review Sept. 19-21. OSU Extension is heavily involved in Farm Science Review offering a wide range of educational opportunities. As you enter the show grounds from the east parking lot, I encourage you to walk through the Agronomics Crops Team plots before you get to the gates. We’ve got an exciting new layout this year. Be sure to stop by and ask your agronomy questions, check out our giveaways and sign up to win a Yeti cooler!

The Farm Office in the Firebaugh Building and the Ask the Expert sessions are a great place to learn more about farm management and legal topics. Tax reform, trade agreements, price outlooks, and more will be covered during the three days.

Do not forget about the field equipment demos in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to see the latest and greatest equipment in action. Corn and soybean harvests are always popular but other demos that might be of interest include nutrient application, tillage, planters, and drones.

The Small Farms area and Gwynn Conservation Area offer a lot for landowners and those interested in growing specialty crops or managing a successful small farm. The Gwynn has their own set of exhibitors related to wildlife and outdoor life. Presentations and demonstrations there include electroshocking, fall mushroom hunting, deer food plots, streambank restoration and many more. The complete schedule of events can be found at

You can purchase advanced sale tickets for $7 at the Champaign County Extension office through Monday, Sept. 18. We are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. You can also purchase tickets at Champion Feed & Pet Supply in Mechanicsburg and Westville Grain. Tickets at the gate are $10.
