Excellent pitching and defense led the WL-S baseball team over Ben Logan, 5-2, in the ACME sectional final.

Ben Logan jumped on the board in the 1st on a passed ball to take a 1-0 lead. It was short-lived when the Tigers answered with two in the bottom of the 1st and then added 2 more in the bottom of the second on doubles by Thomas Allen and Trevor Burden.

Allen, also the starting pitcher, settled in and no-hit the Raiders through 4 innings before giving up a hit in the top of the 5th and top of the 7th.

Allen tossed a 7-inning complete game walking 1, surrendering 2 hits and striking out 13.

Burden was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, Allen was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI and Tyler Jones was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.

The Tigers, now 3-0 through the North sectional, will advance to the district tournament and take on either Xenia or Greeneview.

Ben Logan will play the winner of the South Sectional Final.

The ACME district tournament will be held at Bellefontaine starting on Saturday; one winner will advance to the ACME state championship held at Lima Shawnee High School next weekend.

The Tigers were district champions in 2016.
