ST. PARIS – Graham High School has hired new boys and girls basketball coaches.

Nathan Warner is now the head varsity boys basketball coach.

Warner comes to Graham from Northeastern High School where he coached the previous two seasons. At Northeastern, Warner took over a program that went 17-73 the previous three years and created a winning atmosphere with a 25-23 mark in his two years with the Jets.

GHS Athletic Director Jay Lewis said he is excited about this hire.

“We are very excited to have Coach Warner join our coaching staff. His attention to detail and work ethic along with his defensive game planning will be a great addition to our already talented group of players,” Lewis said.

Warner was a standout player at Madison Plains High School and he also played at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. His coaching resume includes experience at Madison Plains before accepting the head varsity basketball coaching position at Northeastern.

“I know the great reputation and tradition of excellence that the Graham boys program has had in the past and I look forward to building our ‘GrahamTOUGH’ culture one day and one step at a time,” said Warner.

The Graham girls basketball program is now in the hands of experienced coach and local resident Randy Tyler.

Tyler returns home to his alma mater after building his coaching resume at Fairlawn High School as its head girls basketball coach from 2012-2016.

“I’m enthusiastic to return home to Graham and I am looking forward to creating a competitive program. I am eager to begin building an exciting and fundamentally strong program at every level, from elementary up to varsity,” said Tyler.

Fundamentals and hard work have been the cornerstone of Tyler’s philosophy, according to Lewis.

“I am looking forward to seeing Coach Tyler’s enthusiasm and fundamental detail hard at work. He is eager to get started and challenge the players,” said Lewis.
