Dive crews respond to overturned boat

ST. PARIS – Emergency crews from the Miami County area were alerted to a possible drowning at Kiser Lake on Saturday at approximately 8:15 p.m. After more information was gathered, it was determined an overturned boat had been abandoned and the occupants were safe on land.

After visitors to the lake found the overturned boat, dive teams were called in and Ohio Department of Natural Resources had several boats in the water. At least one fire department boat was also part of the search.

By the time Piqua and West Milton dive teams arrived at Kiser Lake, it was determined the boat’s occupants – a man and his son from Dayton – had gone ashore and were safe at home.
