Lakers give Falcons trouble

ST. PARIS – Indian Lake defeated Graham, 13-1, in CBC baseball on Tuesday.

Josh Lewis was 2-for-3 for the Falcons, while Andy Milligan was 1-for-1. Logan Black was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Chase Adams was 1-for-3.

Graham (5-17) hosts Tecumseh on Thursday.

ST. PARIS – Indian Lake topped Graham, 14-3, in CBC softball on Tuesday.

The Falcons were roughed up early and often, taking a 3-2 deficit into the second inning and fading from there.

Mechanicsburg softball romps

Mechanicsburg routed Catholic Central, 31-1, in OHC softball on Tuesday.

For the Indians, Elysha Stapleton went 3-for-4 with 7 RBI, Kasey Schipfer was 3-for-3 and Francys King was 3-for-3. Mary Mayo went 3-for-4 with a triple and 4 RBI, Bella Link had a pair of doubles and 4 RBI, while Ceci Link, Meagan Hux and Jessica Maddux each had multi-hit games.

M’burg (9-10) plays at Sidney on Thursday.

‘Climbers walk off

Urbana beat Bellefontaine, 7-6, in CBC baseball on Tuesday. Luc Russell had the walk-off hit for the Hillclimbers, delivering a one-out single into left field with the bases loaded to plate Seth Mangus.

For Urbana, Mangus was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Russell finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Brayden Fain was 2-for-3.

Tigers fall in baseball

WL-S spotted Anna 7 runs in the first inning in a 13-4 loss on Tuesday in non-league baseball. Starting pitcher Trevor Burden gave up 5 earned runs on 4 walks and 1 hit. The Tiger defense committed 5 errors.

WL-S (12-9) will host Fairbanks today.

The WL-S jayvees beat Anna, 3-2. Drew Buroker earned his first win on the mound for the Tigers, going the distance.

Zach Glock and Zavier Hamilton were both 2-for-3.

WL-S softball prevails

WL-S beat Riverside, 11-10, in 8 innings on Tuesday in non-league softball. Kelsey Day recorded the win for the Tigers.

For WL-S (17-5), Kiana Reames had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning. She was 3-for-5 on the day with 2 RBI. Day was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI and Kenedie Cox and Arrah Sandy each added two hits.

The Tigers host Newton on Friday for the last regular season game and Senior Night.

UHS tennis wins

Urbana downed Shawnee, 4-1, in CBC boys tennis on Tuesday.

At first singes, Cole Headlee lost to Daniel Dietrick 6-0, 6-1.

At second singles, Trevor Johnson beat Michael Foley, 6-2, 6-2.

At third singles, Hudson Stouffer beat Gabe Andorfer, 6-1, 6-3.

At first doubles, Andrew Fansler and Bailey Ullah beat Chris Hile and Tanner Brown, 6-2, 6-2.

And at second doubles, Alex Swank and Ethan Burnside beat Steff Gaffney and Bryce Peters, 6-0, 6-0.

Urbana (11-9) plays in the CBC tournament on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Northwestern.
