Pausing to recover

This golden-crowned kinglet allows a camera to come uncomfortably close as it regains its bearings while perched on a deck railing after flying into a door and stunning itself. The bird was knocked for a loop and onto its back before being picked up with an oven mitt off the deck floor and placed on the safety of a railing with the hope it would recover. After about 10 minutes of intermittently nodding off and attempting to stretch its leg and wing, it took off in flight once again.
