COLA Late Models head to Shady Bowl Speedway

DeGRAFF – The COLA Late Model Series will be on hand at Shady Bowl Speedway Saturday night. It will mark the third stop at the rural oval for the new series this season. The 40-lapper will be sponsored by CS & SS LLC of Urbana. In the two races this season, the first was won by Jim Lewis Jr and the second went to Josh Smith.

The All-American Challenge for Compacts is also on the grid. The 100-lapper will put $1,000 in the winner’s pocket. This will be the third time for this event to be held. Past winners were Rob Sharpe and Larry Adams.

The modifieds will run a 30-lap feature. There have been several rules changes for this event. Rule information can be had by calling Roger Winget (937-399-8118) or Ricky Young (937-260-3796).

The Pure Stocks will be running a regular program. It will be their final points race of the season. Jason Purtee leads Rob Bryant as they battle for the championship.

The spectator drags are also on the schedule. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
