

TROY – Several local athletes competed at the Division III regional track and field competition at Troy High School on Wednesday.
A few events went final on Wednesday.
Advancing to the state meet was Mechanicsburg’s David Harvey (4th, long jump). Also placing but not qualifying were Triad’s Josh McManaway (8th, discus) and Mechanicsburg’s Phil Cook (8th, pole vault).
Competition continues with Friday’s running finals and the remaining field events.
Advancing to the finals on Friday were Jared Butcher (MHS, 400), Bryce Waring (MHS, 200), Morgan Freyhof (WL-S, 100), Janie Kopus (WL-S, 400), Caylee Karg (WL-S, 300H), Mechanicsburg’s boys 4×200 relay team and West Liberty-Salem’s girls 4×400 relay team.
8-u softball
LaPalma beat Family Stitchery, 10-1
Outstanding players for LaPalma were Lanie Dingledine and Ashton Waller.
For Family Stitchery, Hailey Alty and Emma Placke were standouts.
10-u softball
Kingscreek defeated Bet-R-Buy Auto Sales, 11-4. Outstanding players for Kingscreek were Leah Ropp and Bailey Poppe. Outstanding players for Bet-R-Buy were Londyn Loveless and Sydnie Hoffman.
Street’s Towing defeated Bet-R-Buy Auto Sales, 10-6. Outstanding players for Street’s Towing were Gracie Street and Kaydence Feasel. Outstanding players for Bet-R-Buy were Kaylene Rogan and Bree Stid.
