On Saturday at 2 p.m., the Urbana Rugby Football Club will be hosting the Findlay Renegade at Urbana’s Melvin Miller Park soccer fields for a high school boys rugby match. Admission is free.

This match will feature a Uniform Appreciation Ceremony at halftime.

“We would like to invite the public, especially all active reserve and retired military, police and firefighters/responders to the match,” said Thoron Byrd, Urbana Rugby Football Club founder and head coach. “All uniform service men and women are welcome to participate in our halftime festivities that will include: playing of the services’ fight songs, moment of silence in respect for those we’ve lost, and an egg toss challenge. Winners will receive a free Racer Rugby hooded sweat shirt. The Racers will also be unveiling their new uniforms this Saturday.”

Registrations are still open for any champaign county high school male. Registrations are online at rugbyohio.org.
