Visiting Northwestern beat Urbana, 42-37, Wednesday night in CBC/MRD girls basketball.
With the loss, the Hillclimbers are now 2-4 overall, 1-2 in the CBC/MRD.
For UHS, Hunter Rogan had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Katy Curnutte had 11 points and Natalie Seeberg added 7 points and 17 rebounds.
Northwestern won the jayvee game, 49-27. Marissa Horn had 7 points for Urbana.
Fairbanks tops Triad
NORTH LEWISBURG – Fairbanks defeated Triad, 66-41, in non-league girls basketball on Wednesday.
Fairbanks led, 14-12, at the end of the first quarter and 40-29 at the half.
The visitors owned a 56-39 lead after three periods.
Jenna Ober paced the Cardinals (1-4) with 24 points.
Fairbanks won the jayvee game, 37-18.
Triad plays Mechanicsburg on Saturday.
M’burg sweeps in bowling
Mechanicsburg beat Graham, 2,822-2,520, in non-league boys bowling.
For the Indians, Caleb Westfall had a 234-258-492, Jake Ripley a 182-234-416, Ross Parson a 171-161-332, David McMahill a 201-167-368 and Preston Estep a 200-268.
Mechanicsburg’s girls prevailed, 2,687-2,217.
For the Indians, Lauren Mayberry had a 247-170-417, Katie Bush a 266-209-475, Ally Hosiera 232-249-481, Michaela Edwards a 188-172-360 and Jenna Alspaugh a 136.
Junior high basketball
Triad’s 7th grade girls beat Cedarville, 44-28. For Triad (4-1), Cati LeVan had 18 points, Frani LeVan had 15 and Baylie Plank had 7.
Triad’s 8th graders lost, 29-15. For Triad (1-4), Sidney Louck had 7 points and Olivia Butz had 6.
The Triad 7th grade boys lost to Cedarville, 31-29. Drew Campbell had 8 points and JC Alexander and Wyatt Cave each had 7 for the Cardinals.
Triad’s 8th graders lost, 38-33. Andrew O’Neil had 8 points and Jacob Simonelli and Layne Thompson each had 6 for the Cardinals.
