The Champaign County Retired Teachers Association will meet for a luncheon starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The meeting will be at the Church of the Nazarene on East state Route 29 at Dugan Road. A Christmas party with a surprise for guests begins following the luncheon.

All retired teachers are invited to attend. If you have not received a phone call, call Karen Headlee 653-7777 by Friday, Dec. 4 for a reservation.

Members are reminded to bring their volunteer hours for the year’s totals.

At the recent Champaign County Retired Teachers Association meeting, members learned of the changes in 200 years to the music of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Janet Ebert, who has studied the National Anthem for over 50 years, played examples for the group.
