The Urbana University men’s soccer team made school history by becoming the first UU athletic program ever to qualify for NCAA postseason play.

The Blue Knights were chosen on Monday as one of 38 teams to compete for the 2015 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship, as voted by the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Committee.

Under eighth-year head coach Nick Roberts, UU received the three seed in the Atlantic Region where a first-round matchup at No. 2 Millersville awaits the Blue Knights.

The first NCAA playoff game in UU history is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15 in Millersville, Pa., with a 1 p.m. scheduled start at Pucillo Field.

The Blue Knights (12-4-2) and Marauders (14-4-1) have never met, and the winner will play the winner of No. 1 Charleston/No. 4 Notre Dame College on Nov. 19 or 20.

Two to six teams were selected from each of the eight regions.

Teams from the same region will be paired for first- and/or second-round competition, which will be conducted Nov. 12-15 on campus sites. Third-round/quarterfinals will be held on campus sites and completed by Nov. 22.

The semifinals and final will be played Dec. 3 and 5 Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla., hosted by the University of West Florida and the Pensacola Sports Association.
