WEST LIBERTY – WL-S senior volleyball standout Jamie Peterson will sign a letter of intent to attend the University of Dayton on Monday at noon in the WL-S media center.
Peterson was recently named First Team All-Ohio in Division III.
Only eight players in Ohio’s Division III were named to the first team.
In addition, Peterson was recently named to the Under Armor All-American Honorable Mention Team.
The Under Armor Girls High School All-America Program is through the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association), and it recognizes the top 150 high school senior volleyball players in the nation. Over 600 players were nominated by their high school coaches. Only eight players from Ohio were selected and six of them, including Peterson, were named Honorable Mention.
On Monday, visitors should come through the high school entrance and sign in at the office.
WL-S fall awards banquets
High school golf will be Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Home Ec Room. Pizza, drinks and table service will be provided – athletes are asked to bring a dessert to share.
High school boys soccer will be Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in cafetorium, a dessert buffet. Athletes are asked to bring a dessert to share – drinks and table service will be provided.
High school boys and girls cross country will be Nov 18 at 6 p.m. for a potluck in the cafetorium. Meat, drinks and table service will be provided. Athletes are asked to bring a dish to share.
High school girls soccer will be Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Pizza buffet – drinks and table service provided, athletes are asked to bring a dessert to share.
High school volleyball will be Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. and will be a potluck in the cafetorium. Athletes are asked to bring a dish to share. Drinks and table service will be provided.
Football pre-sale tickets
Pre-sale tickets will be on sale at the following locations for Saturday’s West Liberty-Salem playoff football game at Wapakoneta: the high school office, C & R Pharmacy and Stocksdale Insurance in Urbana.
Tickets are $8 and purchasing pre-sale is encouraged as the school gets a percentage of sales back. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday afternoon and will be on sale until 3 p.m. Friday at the school and Stocksdale and until noon on Saturday at C & R Pharmacy.
Tickets for the Mechanicsburg playoff game Saturday night at Sidney are available at Mechanicsburg High School.
