Officers from the Urbana Police Division conducted a search warrant raid at a local residence Friday morning.

Urbana Police Chief Matt Lingrell states in a press release that officers conducted the raid at 333 Sweetman Ave. at 8:05 a.m. as part of on-going drug investigations. Lingrell noted police also responded to this residence on Aug. 30 for the overdose death of Leslie Peltier, 41.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office ruled Peltier’s death was the result of multiple drugs including fentanyl and cocaine.

Police remained at the residence for two hours Friday morning collecting drug evidence, a handgun, cash and paraphernalia. Adults present at the time of the raid were interviewed by police and released pending further investigation.

Later on Friday, police served an additional search warrant in regards to this case, but Lingrell stated they are not releasing information on that as it, too, remains under investigation.
