The Urbana University women’s soccer team had four student-athletes voted to 2015 All-MEC teams, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore Taylor Greene appeared on the All-MEC Second Team, while senior Hannah Rembach, freshman Courtney Thierauf and freshman Monica Tenorio were named All-MEC Honorable Mention. In addition, Tenorio was also recognized on the All-MEC Freshman Team.

Greene, a forward from Xenia, started all 18 games in her first season as a Blue Knight. She finished second on the team with nine points, as she produced three goals and three assists. Greene led UU with 23 shots on goal and tied for fourth in the MEC in that category.

Rembach, a native of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, wrapped up her Blue Knight career in style with a goal in UU’s final game of the season. A staple in the Blue Knight lineup, Rembach started all 18 games and registered career-highs in goals (two) and assists (four). Her assist total was the highest among Blue Knights and ranked fourth among MEC leaders.

Thierauf, a defender from Mason, Ohio, started all 18 games as a true freshman. She helped anchor a UU defense that secured five shutout wins, and played a key role in UU’s four-game win improvement from last year. Thierauf also recorded one assist during the 2015 campaign.

Tenorio, a native of Springfield, also started every game for the Blue Knights and tied Greene for the second-highest number of goals scored with three on the season. She also finished tied for second on the squad with 20 shots on goal.

In addition to being tabbed honorable mention, Tenorio is one of seven honorees on the league’s all-freshman team.

The All-MEC teams are selected by a vote of the league’s coaches.
