Pigskin Picks

Urbana University got us again.

After going 5-0 in our high school picks last Friday night, UU rallied on Saturday to beat Lake Erie, 33-30, which gave us a 5-1 mark for the week.

That puts us at 30-9 for the season, in case you were wondering.

Maybe we can find perfection again this week.

Tonight’s Games

Northwestern (3-4) at Urbana (2-5) – Urbana’s defense actually played a pretty good game in last week’s loss to pass-happy Ben Logan, but the UHS offense was plagued by penalties.

And we mean plagued.

Northwestern is better than it usually is, so we’re going with the Warriors to prevail in what should be a close one.

Ben Logan (4-3) at Graham (2-5) – Just like Urbana, the Falcons seem to be improving each week.

And just like Northwestern, Ben Logan is better than it usually is, so we’re picking the Raiders to win.

WL-S (5-2) at Triad (3-4) – This one could be the game of the night.

And it will probably be an offensive shootout.

Both teams have good offenses, and both have experienced problems on the defensive side of the ball.

We’re going with WL-S to prevail, but it could be very close.

Mechanicsburg (7-0) at Northeastern (1-6) – On paper, this one would appear to be a mismatch.

The paper is correct.

We’re picking Mechanicsburg to win.

Saturday’s Game

Urbana U. (2-4) at West Virginia Wesleyan (0-6) – We don’t want to miss on UU again, but this one is probably a toss-up.

West Virginia Wesleyan is allowing an amazingly-bad 48 points per game, so we’re going with UU to prevail.
