Bengals pull out memorable OT victory

The unbeaten Cincinnati Bengals pulled out an amazing victory against Seattle last Sunday, one of the most memorable in franchise history.

Cincy trailed, 24-7, in the fourth quarter before rallying for a 27-24 win in overtime.

Could this finally be the Bengals’ year?

Maybe.

Cincinnati’s offense appears almost unstoppable now that tight end Tyler Eifert and receiver Marvin Jones have returned from injuries that wiped out their 2014 seasons, and the defense looks better than it did last year.

Obviously, the Bengals aren’t going to finish unbeaten this season, and a key will be how well they respond when they do suffer their first defeat.

Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer made a wise decision last Saturday in getting quarterback J.T. Barrett on the field.

Barrett has skills that are very effective in the red zone, as he showed in last Saturday’s win over Maryland.

The top-ranked Buckeyes will be playing a one-loss Penn State team Saturday night, although you might not recognize OSU when it lines up for the opening kickoff.

The Buckeyes will reportedly be wearing black jerseys, even though black is not a school color.

As they say in college football these days, if Nike wants it, Nike gets it, so the Buckeyes would apparently have to wear lavender jerseys if Nike thought it could sell them to unsuspecting fans.

Trivia Time – The 1982 Cincinnati Reds lost 101 games.

This week’s question – Where did Bengals’ receiver Marvin Jones play college football?
