Pigskin Picks

After stumbling badly in our picks in Week 1, we rebounded last week by posting a 5-1 record in our prognostications, which puts us at 7-4 for the season so far.

Not great, but it could be a lot worse.

Our only miss came on Graham’s last-second win over Catholic Central.

We haven’t reached perfection yet, but maybe it will happen this week.

Tonight’s Games

Bellefontaine (0-2) at Urbana (0-2) – The Hillclimbers have had a very rough start.

UHS has been out-scored, 105-37, the first two weeks of the season.

Bellefontaine hasn’t fared much better, but we believe the Chieftains are a little better 0-2 team than Urbana.

We’re picking Bellefontaine to win.

Northwestern (2-0) at Mechanicsburg (2-0) – That Mechanicsburg is 2-0 is no surprise.

That NW is 2-0 is a big surprise.

Still, we’re going with the Indians to prevail.

WL-S (1-1) at Kenton Ridge (2-0) – This could be the game of the night.

The Tigers upgraded their schedule this season by adding Valley View and KR, which should produce dividends come playoff time.

This is another potential close one, although we’re going with KR to prevail by a hair.

Triad (0-2) at Fairbanks (0-2) – Triad played a lot better in last week’s contest with North Union, but still came up short, 55-35.

Fairbanks should be a much easier opponent than North Union, so we’re going with Triad to prevail in this one.

Saturday’s Games

Graham (1-1) vs. Lehman (0-2) at Piqua – The Falcons picked up a huge win late last Friday night with a last-second TD pass to beat Central.

Lehman has struggled, although it has played a couple of tough opponents.

This one could be close, but we’re picking Lehman to win.

Urbana U. (0-1) at West Virginia State (1-0) – The Blue Knights were manhandled by Glenville State last week, 49-0.

It could be a very long season for UU.

We’re picking West Virginia State to win.
