Officials to release Ohio’s January unemployment, jobs data

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s unemployment rate for the first month of 2016 is among the latest jobs data that the state is set to release.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is scheduled to share January unemployment and hiring figures on Friday.

Ohio’s unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in December, up from 4.5 percent in November.

The state’s rate has been tracking below the national rate, which was 5 percent for both November and December.
