Ohio Statehouse board’s director plans to retire soon

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The director of the board that oversees the Ohio Statehouse and grounds plans to retire soon.

The Tuesday announcement doesn’t specify why or exactly when Bill Carleton will leave his post as executive director of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board.

A statement from its chairman, House Speaker Clifford Rosenberger, says Carleton has served for more than a decade. Rosenberger says recent safety improvements and security upgrades are among the results of Carleton’s work that have left the Statehouse a better place.

The board is taking applications for Carleton’s replacement until Friday. After applicants are interviewed, the board will meet March 10 to pick a new director.
