OTTAWA, Ohio (AP) — A first-term sheriff in northwestern Ohio has died following complications from surgery.
The Putnam County sheriff’s office says 56-year-old Michael Chandler died Wednesday.
Additional details about his death weren’t released.
Chandler was elected sheriff in 2012 and was seeking re-election this year. Before taking office, Chandler was a deputy in the county for 25 years.
