CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say boxer Adrien Broner was arrested in northern Kentucky on an outstanding warrant after being found in a bullet-riddled car.
WXIX-TV reports the 28-year-old was arrested on a warrant after failing to appear for a 2014 court case in Covington, Kentucky, on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place and disorderly conduct.
Covington police arrested Broner, of Cincinnati, Thursday as he crossed into Kentucky, after reports of shots fired in Cincinnati.
Broner told police an unknown person fired several rounds at his vehicle. Broner, who wasn’t hurt, was released from Kenton County’s jail in Covington after posting bond.
Broner attorney William Welsh said Thursday he hadn’t heard from him.
Broner served jail time last year after being tardy for his trial on later-dismissed charges of assault and robbery.
