Saturday, Jan. 23 Heavy snowfall forecast for Eastern U.S. – Winter storm forecast to hit large parts of Eastern U.S., with blizzards and heavy snowfall expected in Washington, DC, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, while winter storm warnings were also in place for states – or parts of states – including Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana. The Weather Prediction Center has said that some areas could see up to three inches of snowfall per hour, and that could continue for 24 hours or more. Up to two feet of snow is forecast in Washington, DC, up to 18 inches in Philadelphia, and up to eight inches in New York. Travel disruption is expected across the region, with several states having declared states of emergency
