CLEVELAND — Cleveland’s police chief has held a disciplinary hearing for the 911 dispatcher who took a call that led to an officer fatally shooting 12-year-old Tamir Rice, a black boy who was playing with a pellet gun outside a recreation center in 2014. DRIVER DIES IN DRAIN PIPE

— STUDENT DIES-PARKING GARAGE: Authorities say an Ohio State University student has died after falling from a parking garage.
— ALLEY REPAIR: Columbus officials have approved a plan to repair damaged alleys across the city.
— APPEALS COURT-JUDGE: A veteran Cincinnati attorney is becoming a state appellate court judge.
