HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Officials in a southwest Ohio city that’s recognized as the “City of Sculpture” will accept 11 sculptures.
The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports (http://bit.ly/2iUy7bx ) the Hamilton City Council voted last month to accept the sculptures from City of Sculpture Inc.
The organization accepts and maintains artworks from the general public, even after they’re in the possession of the city government.
Under an agreement the city reached with City of Sculpture in 2007, the organization turned over ownership of the sculptures to the city. The city agreed to notify the organization of any plans to move or modify the sculptures, and the organization can help make decisions in such matters.
The 11 artworks range in value from about $3,000 to up to $60,000.
