Cincinnati mayor calls rental home vandalism act of hatred

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati mayor is calling vandalism including the spray painting of swastikas and the phrase “white power” at a biracial couple’s home an act of hatred.

Mayor John Cranley says the crime, which also included cement poured down drains and paint on appliances, an attack on an innocent family and on the community’s values.

The Democratic Cranley says police are working hard to find out who committed the vandalism.

Joe and Pat Jude discovered the damage at their rental home after returning from Thanksgiving vacation.

Pat Jude tells WCPO-TV that nothing is salvageable.

The couple is trying to raise money for their insurance deductible.
