Man charged with murder after 2 killed in Columbus shootings

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in Columbus say a 48-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of a man and woman found in the basement of a house.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at around 1:30 a.m. EDT Sunday on the city’s west side. Police say they found a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical responders pronounced them dead at the scene.

Police say they apprehended John Henry in nearby Fayette County. No attorney information was available for the Clarksburg, Ohio, man.

No other information was released immediately about the two slain people. Police say there were other people inside the residence and they are being questioned about what happened.
