FREMONT, Ohio (AP) — The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums center in northern Ohio is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a new exhibit.
The exhibit opens this weekend at the center in Fremont.
It’s titled “100 Moments: Celebrating a Century of the Nation’s First Presidential Library.”
The exhibit celebrates President Hayes and his son’s collections and also looks at the history of the center that focuses on the life and presidency of the 19th president of the United States.
The News-Messenger in Fremont (http://ohne.ws/2da0B2O ) reports that among the items on display is a piece of broken china Hayes brought back from the White House.
The museum earlier this year completed a makeover to mark its centennial.
Hayes also served as a congressman and Ohio governor.
