CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities investigating the shooting of a woman left wounded in a northeast Ohio park say a second suspect is in custody.
The woman was repeatedly shot in the head before hikers at Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) Valley National Park found her in a field July 3.
Investigators allege she traveled to the site with the suspected shooter and that he test-fired a gun he’d bought before shooting her and fleeing.
That suspect, 27-year-old Dezay Ely of Akron, is charged with attempted murder. Ely’s public defender has declined to comment.
The FBI says a second suspect, Raymond Moore III, was arrested last week and charged with aiding and abetting. Authorities allege he drove the shooter and victim to the site but stayed in his vehicle.
A message was left Tuesday for Moore’s attorney.
