CINCINNATI (AP) — A man accused of severely beating his 16-year-old girlfriend as she left a Cincinnati-area nightclub has been charged with murder and other counts months after the teenager died.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced Thursday that 34-year-old William Arnold’s charges have been upgraded in the death of Hailey Hall. Arnold was initially charged with felonious assault when he was arrested in March. He now faces charges including murder, abduction and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors say Hall was leaving Inner Circle nightclub on Feb. 29 when she was severely beaten by Arnold. Hall was in a coma until she died March 14.
Arnold’s attorney previously said he expected the more serious charges and wouldn’t comment further.
Arnold has been held at the Hamilton County Justice Center since his March 1 arrest.
