— AKRON OFFICER-INDICTED: A northeast Ohio police officer will avoid jail but must serve a year of probation for beating a man last spring following a police charity event in Cleveland.

— FBI ESCAPE: Police say a man arrested on federal charges escaped FBI custody in Cincinnati and is on the run.

— OHIO MINISTER-SEX CHARGES: An Ohio minister convicted of sexually assaulting a juvenile and an adult who were members of his congregation and another juvenile has been sentenced to life in prison.

— SENIOR CITIZENS HALL OF FAME-OHIO: Annie Glenn, the wife of former U.S. senator and astronaut John Glenn, is among the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame’s latest inductees.
