Ohio NFL prospect charged with tampering after bar shooting

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — A former northeast Ohio prep football star who hoped to play in the NFL has been charged with tampering with evidence after a fatal shooting outside a suburban Cleveland bar.

Twenty-three-year-old Antonio Longino was freed Thursday in Cleveland Heights after posting a $100,000 bond. Twenty-four-year-old Dejon Forbes was killed and another man wounded early Tuesday after shots were fired into a car outside a Cleveland Heights bar.

Twenty-eight-year-old Steven Johnson has been charged with aggravated murder in the shooting.

It’s unclear whether Longino and Johnson have attorneys.

Longino recently completed his third season at Arizona State University. He recently posted online that the Cincinnati Bengals had invited him to an upcoming rookie tryout camp for undrafted college players.

A Bengals team spokesman declined to comment about the linebacker.
