Officials: House fire leaves 1 dead, 2 injured in Ohio

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a house fire in northeast Ohio has left one person dead and two injured.

Officials say the fire broke out just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Willoughby. Authorities say they found a man lying in the driveway and transported him to a hospital, where he later died.

Two other occupants of the house were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the person who died or the two who were injured.

Officials say crews were able to control the blaze within about 20 minutes.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation but doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
