Sentencing set for 3 in forced labor case on Ohio egg farm

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Three men are facing sentencing for smuggling teens into the U.S. and keeping them as virtual slave laborers at an Ohio egg farm.

The three who have taken plea agreements are scheduled to be sentenced Monday in federal court in Toledo.

Federal agents raided a dilapidated trailer park in 2014 and rescued 10 young Guatemalans

Prosecutors say the three men were at the center of a scheme to take custody of the victims at the border before forcing them to work at the egg farm and turn over most of their earnings to pay for their passage to the U.S.
