HUD Secretary to headline Ohio county’s Democratic dinner

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A Barack Obama administration official is scheduled to headline a southwest Ohio Democratic Party’s fundraising dinner.

Julian (HOOL’-ee-un) Castro is secretary of Housing and Urban Development and a former San Antonio mayor. He is often mentioned as likely to be considered as a possible running mate on the 2016 national ticket.

Tickets for the Saturday evening event start at $75 for the Butler County dinner in the north Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield, with tickets that include other benefits such as a private reception running up to $750.

Butler County has long been dominated by Republicans, such as former House Speaker John Boehner (BAY’-nur).
