WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House is expected to announce the members of a new oversight board to help manage Puerto Rico’s debt-stricken economy.
Legislation passed in June set up the control board and required the White House to choose from a list recommended by congressional leaders.
According to two U.S. officials, members of the board include Carlos Garcia, CEO of private equity firm Bay Boston; Jose Ramon Gonzalez, president and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York; Ana Matosantos, former director of the California Department of Finance; scholar Andrew Biggs; law professor David Skeel; former bankruptcy judge Arthur Gonzalez and Puerto Rico insurance executive Jose Carrion.
The officials requested anonymity because they were not authorized to release the list ahead of the official White House announcement Wednesday.
