NEW YORK (AP) — The Latest on the crash of a small World War II-era plane in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey (all times local):

10:10 p.m.

The New York Police Department says the pilot of a small World War II vintage plane that crashed in the Hudson River is still unaccounted for.

New Jersey state police had said the pilot was the only person on the plane and had been rescued but have now retracted that. It says the NYPD is the lead agency on the case.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it received a report about the vintage P-47 Thunderbolt going down near the George Washington Bridge. Firefighters say the plane had engine trouble before it went down Friday night.

The American Airpower Museum is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the P-47 Thunderbolt this weekend. Museum spokesman Gary Lewi (LOO’-ee) says the plane is kept at the museum in Farmingdale, 30 miles east of New York City.

The crash happened near where a US Airways commercial jet carrying 155 people splash-landed in 2009 in what became known as the Miracle on the Hudson.
