CLAYTON – West Liberty-Salem beat Northeastern, 60-51, Tuesday night in the Division III boys basketball sectional.

“It’s very difficult to beat a league team like Northeastern three times in one season,” said WL-S Coach Darrin Leichty. “They had a good game plan against us, but we were able to make enough plays in the last few minutes to win it.”

For the Tigers, Ross Kelley had 20 points and Austin Miller added 11.

WL-S (21-3) advances to a sectional final versus Bethel (16-7) here at Northmont on Saturday at 8 p.m.

“Bethel will have a size edge on us,” said Leichty. “The key for us will be keeping them off the glass.”
