Urbana wrestlers win at Ben Logan Invite

Urbana claimed the team title at the Benjamin Logan Wrestling Invitational over the weekend with 161 points. Graham’s “Black” team was second with 143 points.

For Urbana, Jaylin Cameron (120 pounds) and Jack Harris (195) took first place.

Gavyn Grim (120), Timmy Sidders (160) and Zack Michael (182) each took second.

Cameron Miley (126, 4th), Ezra Lee (132, 5th), Braeden Lehman (138, 5th), Jacob Angles (170, 6th) and Jack DeLong (220, 4th) also placed.

For Graham’s Black team, Forrest Hyden won his class. Tanner Jordan, JD Stickley and Trey Pence earned second place. Dawson Show and Hunter Hyden were third, with Jordan Seibold taking sixth.

Graham wrestling wins

Graham won the Jimmy Wood Wrestling Invitational at New Lexington over the weekend with 456.5 points.

Graham crowned champions with Jordan Crace (106), Mitch Moore (120), Mitch Moore (126), Ryan Thomas (132), Brent Moore (138), Rocky Jordan (145), Joey Sanchez (152), Garrett Jordan (160), Alex Marinelli (170) and Johnny Shafer (220).

Kavan Sarver (195) earned second place, Gage Braun (182) got third and Jeffrey Thomas (113) finished in fifth place.

Mechanicsburg wins at Thunderbird

Mechanicsburg, West Liberty-Salem and Triad competed at the Thunderbird Wrestling Invitational over the weekend. The Indians won the tournament with 276.5 points. Triad was 19th and WL-S was 39th in the 41-team tournament.

For the Indians, Nick Miller (132), Tanner Smith (138), Kaleb Romero (160) and Dylan Hartley (220) each won their classes.

Tyler Wetzel (113), Alex Rhine (120), Wade Smiddy (145) and Corey Bogan (152) were second. Alex Walton (182) was sixth.

For the Cardinals, Jacob Thompson (170) won his class and Zack Zizzo (138) earned fourth.

For the Tigers, Tanner Workman went 3-2 with two wins by fall. Ely Serna had a win via major decision.
