Urbana University prepares to hold the first night football game on its campus this week as the Blue Knights (2-2, 1-2 MEC) will host Charleston (WV) (1-3, 1-3 MEC) at 7 p.m. Thursday inside UU Stadium.

The game features a “Blackout” theme and the first 100 students to visit the UU hospitality tent will receive a free t-shirt.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early with tailgating set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and limited parking spots available in the premium $5 lots. Game tickets are purchased at the stadium’s main entrance with general admission tickets set at $8 while single tickets for ages 12 & under/65 & up can be purchased for $6.

UU Stadium, which was built in 2006, received its first major renovations last summer as a part of numerous upgrades delivered across the entire UU campus.

The stadium project included the installation of four modern LED lighting units and new turf on the playing surface featuring updated branding colors and logo.

On the field, UU enters the fifth week of the season at 2-2 overall and 1-2 against MEC opponents. The Blue Knights are coming off back-to-back road wins at Lake Erie (37-10) and West Virginia Wesleyan (21-7) following a pair of dominating performances on the defensive side of the ball.

This year is the fastest UU has reached two wins since the inaugural year of the MEC in 2013.
