Shady Bowl to kick off season on Saturday

DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway will kick off its 2017 racing season with a full program of racing on Saturday.

It will be the first of over 30 racing dates on the schedule. The late models, modifieds, pure stocks and compacts will be on hand to attack the hillside oval. The same classes will be on the schedule the following week – both will be non-points races.

The points’ chase will start with the April 22 program.

The first big show of the season will be on April 15 when the CRA street stocks will compete in the 4 Crown 200 – a 200-lap feature for the touring group will highlight the night’s action.

Shady Bowl promoter Rick Young said he will never forget last year’s event when a car flipped over the turn one retaining wall and soared over his head. Young was not injured.

Racing will start at 7 p.m. each day.
