Urbana tops Bellefontaine in girls basketball

Urbana defeated Bellefontaine, 51-41, on Saturday in CBC/KTD girls basketball.

The Hillclimbers (1-5 overall) play at Piqua tonight in non-league action.

WL-S girls win

West Liberty-Salem beat Northeastern, 87-41, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

Lily Yoder scored 18 points, Mikalia McIntosh had 14 points and 6 rebounds and Taylor Lauck added 10 points and 4 assists for the Tigers.

In the jayvee game, WL-S won 55-8. Mya King had 16 points and Hallie Strapp added 11 for the Tigers.

In the freshman game, Minster beat WL-S, 35-12. Camrin Rice had 9 points for the Tigers.

Graham girls fall

Kenton Ridge knocked off Graham, 75-49, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

For the Falcons, Kayla Tullis had 18 points and Katey Nash added 13.

M’burg boys lose

Ansonia defeated Mechanicsburg, 76-38, in boys basketball on Saturday.

Joey Mascadri had 18 points, Logan Hurst had 8 points and Chris Taylor scored 7 for the Indians.

“(We’ve) shown the ability to compete in the first half, but have given up over 25 points in the third quarter in two straight games,” M’burg Coach Tyler Craig said.

Ansonia defeated Mechanicsburg, 49-23, in jayvee boys basketball.

Colin Hartley had 7 points to lead the Indians (0-2). C.J. Dingey had 3 points and 8 rebounds.

Mechanicsburg will host West Jefferson on Tuesday.

M’burg girls win

Mechanicsburg routed Catholic Central, 66-18, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday. The Indians scored more points in the first quarter – 19 – than the Irish did for the entire game.

For Mechanicsburg, Morgan Hamby scored 17 points, Mikayla Dodane had 13 and Kasey Schipfer had 11.

Triad boys fall

Cedarville defeated Triad, 72-51, in OHC boys basketball on Friday.

Hadley LeVan had 23 points and Jevin Edley added 10 for Triad.

In the jayvee game, Triad beat Cedarville in overtime, 22-20.

Triad (2-2) hosts Catholic Central on Friday.

Graham drops 2

On Friday, Northwestern beat Graham, 67-56, in CBC/MRD boys basketball.

On Saturday, Miami East held off Graham, 48-47, in non-league action.

JH basketball

Urbana 8th grade girls basketball lost to London, 43-21. Makenna Radford had 9 points for UJHS.

The Urbana 7th grade girls beat London, 23-15. Maleah Murphy had 7 points and Macie Campbell had 6 for UJHS.

Urbana 8th grade boys lost to London, 54-11.

Urbana 7th grade boys lost to London, 40-23. Max Keely had 13 points for UHS.
