Boettcher leads Hillclimbers to victory

BELLEFONTAINE – Urbana knocked off Ben Logan, 69-60, Friday night in CBC boys basketball.

“We got in control early and let them back into it a little in the fourth quarter, but overall I’m happy with our effort,” said UHS Coach Jeremy Dixon. “We do need more work on our defense.”

For the Hillclimbers (2-1), Levi Boettcher had 24 points and 11 rebounds, Jace Underwood had 21 points and 8 assists and Reid Taylor added 16 points.

Urbana won the jayvee game, 48-46. For UHS, Grant Hower had 12 points and Austin Rooney added 9.

The Hillclimbers play at Carroll on Tuesday.

Mechanicsburg loses to SCC

Catholic Central downed Mechanicsburg, 67-36, Friday night in OHC boys basketball.

The Irish led, 13-6, at the end of the first quarter and 26-16 at the half.

For the Indians (0-1), Chris Taylor had 17 points.

Central won the jayvee game, 51-21. C.J. Dingey had 9 points for Mechanicsburg.

JH basketball

Indian Lake beat Graham, 19-18, in 8th grade girls basketball. For GJHS, Lexi King had 7 points and Mikayla Whaley added 6.

WL-S defeated Triad, 22-18, in 8th grade girls basketball.

For WL-S, Gracie Estes had 9 points. For the Cardinals, Fran Levan had 9 points and Cati LeVan had 8. Abby Walls, Joni Russell and Cati LeVan each had 9 rebounds.

The Urbana 7th grade boys beat Bellefontaine, 36-26. For UJHS (1-1), Max Keely had 14 points and Michael Peterson and Aaron Norris each had 10.

Bellefontaine won the 8th grade game, 40-23. Cody Peterson, Wyatt Teets and Landon Turner each had 6 points for UJHS (0-2).
